Meet Ashley and Alex

Meet Mr. Alex Barta and soon to be Mrs. Ashley Barta

Where and when did you meet?

"We met my freshmen year in high school and were high school sweethearts."

What do you love about Alex?

"I love everything about him! He's funny, smart, caring, supportive, and always knows how to make me smile. I love knowing I am marrying the boy I fell in love with when I was 15. We have so much history and I cannot picture my life with anyone but him."

Tell us about the ring

"My ring is a white gold band with a beautiful single stone."

How did he propose?

"He proposed when I came home from a weekend away. I came home to a note on the door with instructions. When I opened the door there was a row of roses leading to the bedroom. Each rose had a written note pinned to it with memories from when we were 15 and 16 to now. When I turned the corner he was standing there with candles in a dress shirt, tie, and dress pants. He was holding the last rose. I had to turn around to read it and when I turned back around he was down on one knee and ask me to marry him. Of course I said yes!"

What do you love about Ashley?

"I love that I can count on her for everything. I love that she’s extremely close with my family, she has a sense of humor, and that I’m marrying my best friend."

When’s the big day?

"We are planning to get married in October 2017."

Meet Kristina and Nick

Meet Mr. Nick Latino and soon to be Mrs. Kristina Latino

Where did you meet?

"Technically we met when we were babies (our moms were friends!), and would have play dates when we were really young. But neither of us remembered that until we “re-met” when we both worked at Sears! He worked for Loss Prevention and I worked in the Lands' End Department. He'd find lots of excuses to have to hang around my department when I was working! What do you love about Nick? So many things! He really is my best friend and we have so much fun together, whether we're cooking together, hiking with our dog, hanging out at home, or traveling the world!"

Tell us about the ring

"It is a gorgeous princess cut ring with a white gold infinity twist band!"

How did he propose?

"On my birthday he surprised me by taking me zip lining (which I've always wanted to do!), and after the last run, he was waiting at the end on one knee!"

When did you decide that you were going to propose?

"I have known for a while now that I was going to propose. I was just waiting for the right time and place to do it. I wanted it to be something special. I had many ideas of what I wanted to do but I wanted to make sure the way I chose to do it was the best way possible."

What do you love about Kristina?

"I love the fact that I have found my best friend for the rest of my life. I love the fact that I can tell her anything and she will take the time to listen to me and even tell me when I am making the wrong decision. I love that we can be ready to take on the night or just hang out at home with some popcorn and Netflix. Lastly, a way to a guy’s heart is through his stomach, and Kristina is by far the best cook I have ever met and I am glad I get to experience her cooking forever."

When’s the big day?

"We'll be getting married April 15th, 2017 in the Caribbean!"

Meet Jillian and Kevin

Meet Mr. Kevin Gabreyl and soon to be Mrs. Jillian Gabreyl. Enjoy taking this escape while reading their enchanting love story.

 Where did you meet?

"We met at my 19th birthday/St. Patrick’s Day party at a mutual friends house. However, we weren’t really fond of each other back then…oops. When we were both 21, I started working at the YMCA in Westfield and he was a member there. We also both attended Westfield State. We would run into each other all of the time when I was working and at school. We would also see each other out all the time. I am not sure exactly how it happened, but we were drawn to each other. We were both hesitant to enter into a relationship, but we couldn’t stay away from each other."

Jillian, what do you love about Kevin?

"Is it too cliché to say everything? (other than the fact that he always leaves the shower curtain open and doesn’t rinse his dishes...haha). He truly is my prince charming. He is very quiet and I am definitely the opposite, so we complement each other well. He is so thoughtful and romantic. On just about every holiday (big or small) he writes me a love letter. It is better than any gift he could buy me. I love that he is such a gentle and kind soul living inside a man that stands at just over 6 feet. We have been together for 5 ½ years. A lot has changed in our lives and we have been through a lot of ups and down, but we are really good at working together to get through anything that comes our way. We never forget to flirt with and compliment each other, go on dates, and just be playful. It also helps that he is extremely handsome :)"

Describe the ring

"AMAZING! It is a 3 stone princess cut ring with a trellis prong style setting. It is so shiny and sparkly and beautiful. I still catch myself staring at it way more than I should. I’ve run into things more than I would like to admit :)"

 How did he propose?

"At Fenway! We were there with a bunch of our closest friends. The game was over and everyone went down to the field to take pictures. All of a sudden the group started walking away from us and Kevin was saying “Eric, take a video.” My eyes immediately filled with tears of pure joy and happiness. I am not exactly sure what he said to me, but I know it was amazing and I obviously said yes! Everyone was in on it. It was amazing to be able to share such a special moment with so many close friends."

Kevin, what do you love about Jillian?

"Jillian is amazing! She's the perfect combination of beauty, intelligence, kind-heartedness, and compassion. She is hard-working and fun-loving, which s what immediately attracted me to her.  She's always going out of her way to not only make me happy but everyone she meets as well. Her personality perfectly compliments mine. I have always been on the shy side and she is very social and outgoing. She supports me in everything I do and all the decisions I make, even if it means putting up with all my little quirks. If there was ever someone tailor-made for me, it's certainly her!"

When did you decide that you were going to propose?

"When I picked up the ring towards the end of August, my initial thoughts were to wait a couple of months to give her the ring. I was thinking about a holiday and wanted to plan out a big surprise before giving it to her. But once I picked up the ring from Stevens Diamond Jewelers, I could not wait to give it to her! I literally had the ring in my pocket wherever we went together. It was no later than a week when I proposed to her at a Red Sox game in Boston. We had all of our friends there and it is certainly a moment I will never forget!"

 When's the big day?!

"Our wedding is on September 30, 2016!"

Meet Kevin and Nicole

We're pleased to introduce you to Mr. Kevin Stevenson and soon to be Mrs. Nicole Stevenson. Indulge yourself in some romance by reading their love story!

 Where did you meet?

"We met through my coworker. She kept telling me about a friend of hers she wanted to introduce me to. However, time went by and she was out on maternity leave. The week before she was to come back to work I bumped into her and “the friend” out in Westfield. Our first date was Halloween, luckily she didn’t show up in costume! We’ve been inseparable ever since!"

Kevin, what do you love about Nicole?

"Nicole lights up a room and people are attracted to her bright and warm personality. She is passionate and caring, always willing to help and be there for anyone. She is independent and confident without being ungracious. She’s beautiful, funny and wears her heart on her sleeve. There’s no mistaking her for anyone else. Sometimes overwhelming but not boring, someone I am lucky to spend the rest of my life with. I love everything about her!"

When did you decide that you were going to propose?

"I decided the night I picked up the ring. I gave myself plenty of time to hatch my plan, one day! With the help of a few friends, I was able to get everything I needed to make it happen. I really wanted to surprise her and it worked! Is less than 24 hours a record?!"

Describe the ring
"The ring is very special. Nicole is very close with her grandmother, Mimi, and she generously donated her diamond for us to custom make a ring. The diamond is an oval so the band and custom halo make for a really unique and timeless look. The ring came out better than I could have hoped for and she gets compliments all the time!"
Nicole, what do you love about Kevin?
"EVERYTHING. He is a genuinely amazing person. He goes above and beyond for everyone especially me. He makes me smile and laugh and I am truly lucky to be able to spend my life with him. Not to mention, he talks more than I do and he’s super cute!!!"
How did he propose?
"HE SURPRISED ME!!! I have NEVER been surprised my entire life and he pulled it off!!! We were on our way to East Side Grill in Northampton for dinner. His plans were to have his best friend Rob and his girlfriend Rahiza decorate the house while we were away. But his plans quickly changed when I received a phone call from the Springfield Police dept. I am part of an amazing volunteer organization  in which I mentor a young girl. She was having family problems which led to her and her sister spending the night with us. Our east side grill plans changed to 99 restaurant and we had 2 special dinner dates. While at dinner, I received a phone call from my alarm company informing me my burglar alarm was going off in the home. As I thought things couldn’t get worse!! I looked at Kevin and he informed me to call them off and said it was just his brother making sure the new spare house key worked! I dismissed it with weariness… After dinner was over, we went home. The lights were off and I turned to Kevin and said” Oh, look your brother brought us balloons!” he laughed then switched on the lights. My heart started racing and the tears began to flow. He had orchestrated the most perfect proposal. He was down on one knee with tears in his eyes and the most beautiful ring in the entire world in his hands. He was surrounded my balloons and confetti! Flowers! Chocolate covered Strawberries and champagne!!! The girls were so happy they were crying, jumping up and down, hugging us and taking photos!! This night instantly went from the worst night of my life to the best. I am going to marry my best friend. And having the girls there was definitely an added bonus! I am one lucky girl."
When's the big day?!
"It's going to be a winter wedding, planned for December 3, 2016."
